What went well?

Mocked-up a booking page to test allowing young people to book meetings.

Agreed some digital safeguarding solutions.

What didn’t go so well?

Getting others to focus on simplicity.

Found an issue in one of safeguarding solutions.

What could I do differently in the future?

It’s part of a bigger problem, so it’ll take some time, but more public guidance and reiterating the goal.

What went well?

Wrote a solution document in quick smart time.

Was asked to do another Digital Charity talk.

What didn’t go so well?

Wasn’t able to meet some expectations at work.

What could I do differently in the future?

Not sure. I feel I’ve been clear about the stakeholders not wanting the solutions.

The changeable nature of risk

I used to climb this tree when I was a kid. It’s huge. At least thirty feet up. That was probably the attraction. The adventure and the risk of climbing trees that could have resulted in serious injury (and did, I broke my heel falling out of a tree, although not this one).

The perception of risk and its consequences are interesting, changeable things. Different things seem risky to different degrees, by different people at different times. But are they, or is it just that our perception changes? We’ll leave that one to Heraclitus and Parmenides to figure out.
