Figure out what is being asked of you. Know how you’ll be assessed, because you always will be, by yourself and by others. Take in information and consider it thoughtfully. Be clear with yourself about what you need to do.

Answer the question

Focus on what you need to achieve. Put in the time and effort, learn along the way. Doing and learning aren’t separate. And know how you can get extra marks because sometimes it’s worth it.

Show your working out

The process matters. Getting the wrong answer the right way is a great way to learn, especially if others can see how you got there and show you how to improve.

Do your homework

Practice so you can apply your knowledge in other situations. Find out more than you need to know so you have it for the future.

Know which rules you can break

Some rules can and should be challenged. Some should just be obeyed. Learn to tell the difference.
