Is it still litter?

Is it still litter once it’s put in a bin? Isn’t litter, by definition, rubbish that has been abandoned in the wrong place? Once it’s in the right place (the bin), it’s no longer litter.

How should you go about building a new ecommerce team for an existing business?
With extra capacity required across the business in marketing, merchandising and product lifecycle management, development projects, and business processes, how do you decide on the best approach for building a lean but effective team?
Do you start with a generalist who can do a bit of all, or a specialist to take over one aspect more completely?
If I was a HR manager I might find myself asking why so many teams are made up of a male head, usually in his late thirties or early forties, with lots of subordinate females in their twenties, and what this says about the organisation.
What do we mean by winning? Do we think that for us to win ISIS must be completely destroyed or would we accept ISIS no longer attacking targets in Europe as a win? Can the war on terror ever be considered a zero-sum game?
Sports like football and games like chess are sometimes thought of as zero-sum games, if you win your opponent loses, but often they aren’t. If you’re playing as part of a league then sometimes a draw is enough to get the points you want to go onto the next round or stage of the competition. Sometimes winning doesn’t mean winning.
I wonder if anything is truly a zero-sum game.
Is it because the young people who are hired to work in digital departments are building their career and are able to use each job as a stepping stone to the next position?
Is it because the reward and recognition package offered by the organisation doesn’t match the expectations of the people?
Is it because the structure and nature of the organisation doesn’t match the desire for creativity, self-expression and independence of these people?
Is it because digital is a fast-moving industry so staying on a position for less than a year is considered normal?
And is it a problem? Of course each recruitment costs the organisation, but what if a person in a role for six months provides enough value to the organisation that in fact it’s worth it for both parties.
Happiness is a funny thing. I don’t know much about it but I’m interested in trying to understand it better precisely because it’s such an undefinable thing.
I think happiness is made up of lots of other hard to define things like joy, connection, contentment, satisfaction, relaxation, and those things can come about through lots of small everyday experiences and realisations.
So, it seems that maybe happiness isn’t so much a state to be chased after or worked towards, but rather an emergent property of other aspects of personality and lifestyle being aligned in a way that doesn’t prevent happiness from occurring.

Spreadsheets are awesome. They are a quick and easy-to-use way of collating, manipulating and analysing data. But they aren’t meant to be used for writing reports, creating a list, recording contacts with a customer, etc., etc. If you are using words, then a spreadsheet isn’t (generally) the right tool for the job. If you have lots of numbers that you want to be able to manipulate using formulas, then use a spreadsheet. Please, stop using spreadsheets in the wrong way.
