There are a few of these cool little websites that surface real-time data for things like aeroplane locations, tor data flow, and this one for lightning across the world.
I remember hearing the term “garbage in, garbage out” for the first time. It was the early nineties and I was studying A level computer science. The term was used to describe the limitations of computers, that if the data you put into a computer doesn’t make sense then you shouldn’t expect the output to make any sense either.
It’s an interesting principle that applies to a lot more than just computers.
I watched Despicable Me 3. Gru is married to Lucy and adoptive father to Margo, Edith and Agnes. Gru and Lucy are super secret agents working for the Anti Villan League until a mission goes wrong and they are fired. Then Gru’s long lost twin brother invites them all to the family mansion to tempt Gru back into a life of crime to steal the largest diamond in the world. Gru’s brother wants to make his father, the greatest super-villan who ever lived, proud of him. Gru goes along with the plan because he wants to return the diamond to the AVL to get his and Lucy’s jobs back to support their family.
It’s a film all about family. Just as Shrek is about friendship and forgiveness, Despicable Me is about trying to do the right thing for your family, supporting them, making them proud. A good kids film should have a fable-like theme that offers some kind of life lesson.
